The original chart
The first version, titled "Know the difference: Guychow vs Foidslop," was saved to Know Your Meme on October 17, 2024, a month before the X post that most people treat as the start of foidslop. It's styled like a dictionary page, with made-up pronunciations.
Guychow: "Meat centered dishes that are quick and easy to prepare; any vegetables in the meal are usually only there to bring out the flavor of the meat." The example is a ribeye steak.
Foidslop: "Flavorless amalgamation of carbs and vegetables; any meat in the meal is usually an afterthought or specifically included in the name of the dish to trick men." The example is pasta salad.
The four-way version
Wifeslop: classic comfort food that takes no special skill, cooked in a crock pot or baked by a wife for her husband. Baked ziti, casseroles, chili.
Guychow: a single man's meal, made for himself and mostly for fuel, often starting with ground beef.
Foidslop: grazing food that doesn't quite match, basically girl dinner, often with antipasto, eaten alone while streaming a show on a laptop.
Guyslop: whatever is in the fridge, in combinations nobody should repeat, eaten at a low point.
Which one is your dinner?
Most people land in more than one column depending on the night. A charcuterie board is foidslop on a Tuesday and a party platter on a Saturday. Cottage cheese recipes started as gym food and ended up on recipe TikTok. If you want a verdict on yours, take the dinner quiz.
What about broslop?
Broslop is a looser word for male-coded slop in general: protein tubs, long podcasts, cold plunges. It covers a guy's whole lifestyle, where guychow and guyslop are only about dinner.
