Guyslop Meaning

guyslop /ˈɡaɪ.slɒp/ noun, slang

Guyslop is meme slang for the dinner a man eats when he has given up: whatever is left in the fridge, combined in ways nobody should try. It comes from the same meme chart as foidslop and guychow.

Meaning and origin

Guyslop comes from the four-way version of the guychow vs foidslop meme chart, which sorts dinners into wifeslop, guychow, foidslop and guyslop. The chart describes guyslop as "whatever found in fridge," eaten as a depression meal, with "unholy combinations" and a lot of loneliness.

Where guychow is a guy cooking for himself on purpose, guyslop is a guy eating because he has to. Think cold hot dogs with a slice of cheese folded around them, or cereal at 2 a.m.

Guyslop vs girl dinner

Guyslop is basically girl dinner with worse lighting. Both are a person who can't face cooking eating whatever is around. The difference the meme draws is that girl dinner gets put on a board and filmed, and guyslop gets eaten over the sink.

How people use it

Mostly as a confession. Someone posts a photo of a microwaved burrito next to a handful of shredded cheese eaten from the bag and captions it guyslop, the same way people post a sad plate and call it girl dinner. It gets used by women too, for the nights when even girl dinner feels like too much work.

It's rarely an insult. The chart it came from was mean about foidslop and fond of guychow, but guyslop was always the sad one, and people tend to treat it as relatable.
