Meaning and origin

Goyslop combines goy, a Yiddish word for a non-Jewish person, with slop. It spread through 4chan and far-right Twitter in the early 2020s as a word for fast food, seed oils, and mass entertainment, wrapped in a conspiracy theory that the junk is being fed to the public on purpose.

The word broke out of those spaces and is now used more loosely, often by people who just mean junk food, which is how most slang travels.

How it relates to foidslop

Foidslop swaps goy for foid and keeps the rest. Instead of junk food for the masses, it points at comfort media and snacks associated with women. It ended up being used differently, mostly because so many of the people it described were happy to own it.

The meme charts that compared foidslop with guychow were first posted in the goyslop gallery on Know Your Meme, which is how the food version of foidslop got its definition.

Why a lot of people avoid it

Because the word was built around the idea that someone is feeding junk to non-Jews on purpose, a lot of people treat it as antisemitic even when it's used casually. Some people who just mean fast food use it without knowing where it came from, and get called out for it. If what you mean is junk food, junk food works fine.
