Meaning
Wiktionary defines hetslop as derogatory slang for heterosexual romantic or sexual content that comes across as shallow or pandering. In practice it gets used in fandom arguments about ships, for a straight pairing that exists because the studio thought it had to, or a romance subplot nobody asked for.
Hetgem is the compliment: a straight romance that earns it. Yurigem borrows yuri, the Japanese term for stories about romance between women, and means a really good one of those.
Hetslop and foidslop
The two words overlap but aren't the same. Foidslop is about who the thing is for. Hetslop is about what kind of romance it is and whether it's any good. Romantasy and Twilight get called both. Heated Rivalry, a romance between two men that a lot of women love, is foidslop to some people and the exact opposite of hetslop.
